It’s finally a reality people! Screen Daily has brought the word that the next Expendables film has actually started principal photography in the UK as most key territories have been sold for the film’s distribution. The site also adds that more casting news has been announced although it’s still nothing to get excited about.
There have been additions to the cast as well as they include Sheila Shah (Rambo: Last Blood), Jacob Scipio, who I did think was pretty solid in Bad Boys for Life and Levy Tran. They join the cast that already includes franchise regulars Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone. Arnold Schwarzenegger is also returning. Other new additions include Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and Tony Jaa who up to this point has been the only real action star addition to get fans excited about.
Stunt pro Scott Waugh takes over in the director’s chair and he helms from a script penned by Spenser Cohen with current revisions turned in by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson and Trevor Short are serving as executive producers via Millennium Films.
With production firmly under way, hopefully we get some stellar action casting news soon. Once again this one sounds like it’s going to be a Jason Statham led spin-off film although until we get a more concrete plot, we’ll just have to wait and see. At this point, it looks like John Wick 4 who has added Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror is more of an Expendables movie then the actual one here.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more details to come as the next Expendables film is officially filming!
