COWBOY BEBOP: Netflix Unveils New Key Art for its Live Action Adaptation of the Popular Anime (Update: The Official Opening Drops at TUDUM!)

By: John M Jerva

Netflix took to their TUDUM global fan event to deliver the opening sequence for the highly anticipated Cowboy Bebop which shows off the first real footage of the cast!

I think that John Cho and the cast including Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda look great and it definitely seems to capture the vibe and off the hook atmosphere of the Anime so hopefully the series looks just as good and fans will be pleased.

We’ll find out on November 19th!

(Original Post) Netflix has officially rolled out some pretty cool looking key art for its live action adaptation of the ever popular Anime Cowboy Beebop. The series which will debut on November 19th stars John Cho who plays Spike Spiegel, the leader of a misfit crew of bounty hunters. The series has had a long and winding road to completion but the end is in sight with a release date and poster.

Based on Shinichirō Watanabe’s cult anime series, Cowboy Bebop follows a group of misfit bounty hunters, led by Spike Spiegel (Cho) as they search for the galaxy’s most valuable criminals. Mustafa Shakir also stars as Spike’s trusted co-pilot Jet Black and Daniella Pineda as the highly-skilled bounty hunter Faye Valentine. The series will debut on Netflix Friday, November 19.

Cho was injured while filming the long awaited series which put production back seven to nine months. Filming finally wrapped in March of this year.

First look images also debuted last month which I unfortunately didn’t post right away but you can check them all out featuring the cast in various scenes from the series and it does look authentic to the source material.

The official synopsis reads:

“They form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”

I was never a real fan of the original Anime but I’m going to check this out and see if it sparks my interest for it again. I gravitated towards the martial arts themed titles like Street Fighter but Sci-Fi was a close second when I was a kid.

With the official release date set and the new poster out, expect the trailer at any time. Keep it locked and loaded right here!
