Thus far, Tony Jaa is the only real action star that has been added to the cast of the next Expendables film but after it was also announced the Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Megan Fox have been added, it is now being revealed that veteran Hollywood actor Andy Garcia has enlisted as well.

Per THR: “Jason Statham is leading a double-barrelled call sheet that also includes Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Sylvester Stallone, who are set to reprise their roles from the previous three installments. Also in the chamber are Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox and Tony Jaa.

Stuntman-turned-helmer Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) is set to direct what will be the fourth outing with scheduled to begin October.”

Now don’t get me wrong, Andy Garcia is a damn fine actor in his own right but once again this isn’t a big action star casting announcement. I’m still holding out hope that between now and October, we get some primo casting choices to wet our appetites.

THR has reinforced the fact that Statham is taking command in this one leading to my theory that Stallone is going to go out guns blazing. It’ll be interesting to see if this indeed the spin-off Christmas Story arc or an official fourth movie in the franchise spearheaded by Lionsgate and Millennium Films.
