KUNG FU STUNTMEN: NEVER SAY NO!- The New Documentary Sheds Light on the Unsung Heroes of Asian Action Cinema!

By: John M Jerva

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stated in an article that I can’t believe no one was killed while filming Asian action films. The stunts, fight choreography and pyrotechnics are insane, off the charts and unrivaled anywhere else in the world. Stuntmen are certainly the unsung heroes of the genre and now a new documentary from filmmaker John Wei will shed much needed light on these men and women that risk their lives so we can be entertained.

The new doc is called Kung Fu Stuntmen: Never Say No! and it details extensively how these seemingly super humans do what they do on a day to day basis on the set of action films. The list of guests for the documentary is a variable who’s who of Asian action including Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen to just name a few as well as filmmakers Tsui Hark and Andrew Lau. This legendary list of talent gives their take on how the action is done and the clear sacrifices that are made to make it happen. Check out the key art and official trailer below that’s been making the rounds on the web! Warning, there are no English subtitles but as I always say, action translates in all languages across the world!

Kung Fu Stuntmen: Never Say No! will open domestically in China on August 28th and while there’s no international release info yet, you can bet that it’s only a matter of time.
