MONSTER HUNTER Unleashes on Digital this Month and Blu-Ray/4K in March!

By: John M Jerva

I never got the opportunity to see Monster Hunter last year when it finally hit theaters in December and quite frankly, after hearing that Tony Jaa was criminally underused in the film, I haven’t been burning to see it anytime soon.

The film will be making its debut on Digital platforms on February 16th ahead of its physical media launch on DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K UHD on March 2nd so I will certainly check it out and make my final determination from there on. In the meantime, we have some nifty 4K box cover art for you below so check it out and decide for yourself if you haven’t seen it yet either.

When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

Monster Hunter was helmed by Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson with Milla Jovovich leading the charge in the cast along with Jaa, and Ron Pearlman.

The release does include some special features which may entice some to purchase and they include the following:

• Deleted Scenes

• The Monster Hunters: Cast and Characters – Featurette

• Monstrous Arsenal: Weaponry in the Film – Featurette

• For the Players: From Game to Screen – Featurette

The trailer for this one didn’t look bad but I have set my expectations low so maybe I’ll like it and hopefully Jaa does something in it it at least enough to keep me interested. At any rate, check out the trailer once again and pre-order the film now at Amazon by clicking the link below.
