By: John M Jerva

Netflix has really been catoring to action fans as of late with the high profile streaming service bringing out the big guns for films like Spencer Confidential starring Mark Wahlberg and Chris Hemsworth’s action bonanza Extraction. The service is really turning up the heat with big time acquisitions that also include Red Notice starring The Rock, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot as well as the newly mentioned Ball And Chain which will also feature The Rock along with Emily Blunt.

You can now add Jessica Alba to the mix as Variety is bringing the word that the actress has signed on for another action laden project titled Trigger Warning which Netflix hopes to turn into another franchise to go along with Wahlberg and Hemsworth.

Per Variety: Alba plays a traumatized veteran who inherits her grandfather’s bar, and is faced with a moral dilemma after discovering the truth behind his untimely death.  Mouly Surya will direct the film which was written by Josh Olson and John Brancato. Thunder Road’s  Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will produce and Alba will also serve as an executive producer with the hopes that the movie will turn into another franchise for Netflix.

Alba currently stars in the Bad Boys spin-off series LA’s Finest which also features Gabrielle Union and that show is heading into its second season for Spectrum. She is no starnger to action as her first big break came in the Fox sci-fi action series Dark Angel.

Coincidentally, Wahlberg is also set to star in another Netflix original called Our Man from Jersey which will see the star play a “blue collar spy.” Make no mistake, Netflix is clearly making a stand in the streaming wars as they pony up millions of dollars to showcase theater quality films.

Trigger Warning is in the early stages of course so keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come as we are your source for everything action!!!
