Star Wars fans are getting their wish and it looks like the second season of Disney+ The Mandalorian is going to outdo the first as The Hollywood Reporter is bringing the word that Temuera Morrison is returning to the universe and he is going to play the famed bounty hunter Boba Fett in season 2.

Morrison, of course, played Jango Fett who is the father to Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones. The character was teased in the episode The Gunslinger when a mysterious figure approached the seemingly lifeless body of Fennec Shand played by Ming Na. The bounty hunter’s trademark spurs could be heard in the scene leading fans to believe that it was indeed Boba Fett. This news clarifies the fact that it was him.

Per THR: Sources say Morrison will play Boba Fett, the famed bounty hunter who first appeared on the big screen 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and who seemingly died in 1983’s Return of the Jedi as he fell into a sarlacc pit. Actor Jeremy Bulloch portrayed the character in the original trilogy.

Boba Fett is expected to play just a small role in season two of the series, after the character was teased in the season one episode “The Gunslinger.”

Morrison has also voiced Jango and Boba Fett in various Star Wars games throughout the years so he was clearly the ideal choice to resurrect the classic character. Unfortunately, Boba Fett will only play a small role in the season but hopefully it will lead to more appearances later one. We shall see.

It was also announced that genre favorite Michael Biehn will be in season 2 and that Robert Rodriguez is helming an episode of season 2.

All Star Wars fans know that Boba Fett made a surprisingly easy demise in Return Of The Jedi when he was launched into the Sarlacc Pit. We can only hope that Boba Fett will get the justice he deserves with this appearance in the Disney series.

We all know that a Boba Fett solo show was teased at one time but it was dashed when Disney felt that there was too much Star Wars going around after Solo was considered a flop. It’s great to see that they are still bringing back the character that is loved by so many.

Keep it locked and loaded right here Star Wars fans for more to come!
