Even with the current stare of things, many are looking towards the future and the film industry is no exception as The Hollywood Reporter is bringing the word that Aquaman helmer James Wan is teaming up with John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad to adapt the sci-fi novel Hunting Season which was written by Frank M. Robinson.
Wan will serve as a producer via his Atomic Monster productions banner along with his partner Michael Clear.
Per THR: “Hunting Season will follow a law officer from the future who is declared an enemy of the state and sentenced to be executed by being sent to the past and stalked by a posse. The man has three days to acclimate to his new era and find a way to survive.”
The site also states that the film will be in line with other classic sci-fi outings like 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and The Running Man. The story which the film is based on premiered in Astounding Science Fiction Magazine back in 1951.
Kolstad is, of course, famous for creating the John Wick franchise as he penned all three films. He is also a writer on the MCU’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
