(Original Post) Vin Diesel’s latest action franchise hopeful Bloodshot which is based on the Valiant Comic Book of the same name just hit theaters nationwide this past Friday and only earned less than $10 million before theaters shut down due to the Coronavirus concerns. As of now, the film is in limbo with no way for fans to check it out.

Sony is quickly remedying the situation and is taking cues from Universal and other companies hit hard by the crisis and they will be making Bloodshot available on Digital platforms starting on Tuesday, March 24th for a suggested retail price of $19.99 in the U.S.

Tom Rothman, Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group made a statement recently in regards to the decision to release the movie and said, “Sony Pictures is firmly committed to theatrical exhibition and we support windowing. This is a unique and exceedingly rare circumstance where theaters have been required to close nationwide for the greater good and Bloodshot is abruptly unavailable in any medium. Audiences will now have the chance to own Bloodshot right away and see it at home, where we are all spending more time. We are confident that — like other businesses hit hard by the virus — movie theaters will bounce back strongly, and we will be there to support them.”

Unlike the other films hitting Digital early, Bloodshot will be available to own right away as opposed to being a rental for that price.

In Bloodshot, after he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (played by Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – “Bloodshot.” As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both he and his beautiful wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he thought.

The film also stars Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver),Talulah Riley (Westworld), Johannes Haukur Johannesson (Game of Thrones), Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Game Night), Guy Pearce (Prometheus) and Alex Hernandez (Unreal). The script was penned by Eric Heisserer who is an Oscar nomination writer and Diesel is reunited with his Fast And Furious and original xXx producer Neil Moritz with Dave Wilson, who is best known for working with Deadpool Helmer Tim Miller at Blur Studios directing.

I will be certainly checking it out next week as I was planning to see it the week and serve up a review so be on the lookout and keep it locked and loaded right here for more!
