The latest and final season one episode of Disney’s first ever Star Wars live action series The Mandalorian has just dropped today in the Disney+ streaming service but fans are already waiting with bated anticipation for another season of the hit series and show creator, writer and producer Jon Favreau has given them a belated Christmas present with the announcement that a second season is in the works and will drop next fall!

Favreau made the announcement via Twitter and you can check out the full post below!

With fan and critic opinions divided to say the least with the newest trilogy, one thing is certain and that is everyone is in agreement that the show is what Star Wars should be and is a hit across the board. It looks like Baby Yoda was a hit and fans are screaming for more and they’ll get it in less than a year so the news is epic to say the least.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Pedro Pascal plays the titular bounty hunter with Gina Carano and Carl Weathers co-starring in the first season.

The series, which has a substantial budget and looks like it too, has the look and feel of a feature movie and is a wonderful stripped down and bare bones Star Wars story. There are some saying that the future of the Star Wars franchise lays in streaming but with The Rise of Skywalker making bank as usual, we will still get cinema features for years to come but it does look like the streaming option is a sure fire hit.

With the announcement today, you can bet that more details on the sophomore season will follow in the coming months do keep it locked and loaded right here for more 411 on The Mandalorian!!!
