Scott Adkins and Mark Strange Answer Questions at the IP MAN 4 UK Premiere!

By: John M Jerva

Donnie Yen and Ip Man 4: The Finale is currently breaking box office records world wide and the film even beat out Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker at the Chinese Box Office. The last entry in the historic franchise is still set to open on U.S. theaters tomorrow but the stars were out in full force in the UK during the premiere that was held recently courtesy of the Fighting Spirit Film Festival!

On hand were two of the film’s biggest stars in Scott Adkins and Mark Strange who were gracious enough to answer some hot in demand questions about the film. The Q&A was captured on video and you can check it out below and here some great insight and behind the scenes 411 on what it took to make this instant classic.

Adkins and Strange on the red carpet for the Ip Man 4 premiere!

Adkins, of course, took on Donnie “Ip Man” Yen himself while Strange engaged in some fierce on screen fisticuffs with Danny Chan who reprises his role as the iconic Bruce Lee. The video below features both Adkins and Strange divulging some serious BTS coolness that went on and offers up how awesome it was to be a part of Yen’s final Kung Fu flick during a special Q&A session that took place during the film’s premiere.

I also had the honor of talking to Scott Adkins for the film and he talked about doing his classic fight scene with Donnie:

Donnie brings years of experience as he is also an action director and he’s action directed films he wasn’t even in and he’s masterfully experienced and him and Yuen Wo Ping go way back and his first film was with Yuen Wo Ping so he started right away with him. We didn’t rehearse the fight ahead of time with any choreography which was different and you turn up that day and they show you with a little rehearsal and then you do it with Donnie Yen himself and you better be on your toes and ready because you know he will be. I’ve been doing this for many years and I know what needs to be done. You have to be able to remember complex choreography very quickly and be able to replicate it at a high speed and that’s the job really.”
