Earlier this year, I was able to chat with actor Devon Sawa for his role in Sylvester Stallone’s action threequel Escape Plan: The Extractors and during the talk, Sawa talked about a few of his upcoming projects which included the recently released Jarhead: Law Of Return and another awesome sounding project that has him starring along with Guy Pearce titled Disturbing The Peace which sounds all kinds of kick ass and now we have your first look at both the trailer and poster for the film which hits this January!
A small-town marshal who hasn’t carried a gun since he left the Texas Rangers after a tragic shooting must pick up his gun again. This time to do battle with a gang of outlaw bikers that has invaded the town to pull off a brazen and violent heist.
Helmed by York Alec Shackleton, Pearce and Sawa star along with Kelly Greyson, Michael Sirow, Barbie Blank, Jacob Grodnik, Michael Bellisario, Dwayne Cameron, Elle E. Wallace, and Jay Willick.
This film looks to follow a current trend that I love right now which is old school kick ass action flicks that bring back the 80’s and 90’s action vibe and Sawa always brings it and Pearce has been a favorite of mine for a long while so I’m super psyched for this one.
Here’s what Sawa has to say about the movie in our exclusive chat as I asked him if he preferred to play the bad guy:
Yeah (Laughs), I think the trick for me is to just have this state of mind where I pretended that I was the good guy the entire time. Listen, if your father dies at the bottom of a ship, you’d be pissed, right? So my character thinks this is the right thing to do and as long as you do that well then it stays cool and likable and if you like the bad guy then it’s a good film. There’s nothing worse then those over the top, crazy bad guys so yeah it was a lot of fun. I actually play another character in a movie that is coming out at the end of the year where I play an even badder guy, a biker guy.
“Yeah, the premise of that film is that it’s a sheriff and a bad biker in a small town and shit happens. There’s just big fights and it’s a lot of fun. I’m really looking forward to that one coming out and for you to see it.”
