Action fans are eagerly awaiting any and all new footage from director Joe Carnahan’s Boss Level starring Mel Gibson and that guy what’s his name? Oh yeah, Frank Grillo who has an appearance in every movie I think. The movie sounds awesome and while we wait for that one, there’s some exciting news to pass on as all the heavy hitters involved in that film are reuniting for the new action-comedy LEO FROM TOLEDO.

Per The Wrap which broke the news, the film is “based on an original script from Dan Casey, “Leo From Toledo” follows a former killer for the Kansas City mob, now hiding in witness protection, who has trouble remembering simple things. What he does remember he wants to forget. But what he has forgotten has now made him a hunted man with precious little time to save what he does have left: his estranged daughter and granddaughter.”

Carnahan is helming the pic and producing once again with Grillo under their War Party production banner as they set out to deliver kick ass action films for hungry genre fans.

Carnahan was quoted about the film and said:

“‘Leo’ is the kind of movie I love to make, it’s funny and heartfelt with a ton of great action. Being able to work with Mel, and Frank again is a real gift. It rarely happens that you get to make films with the people you love and respect, so I consider myself blessed. I feel like Leo is a ‘return to form’ of sorts for Mel. The script allows him to be both funny and dramatic at different turns and I can’t wait to see what he does with that character.”

Principle photography is set to begin in the first quarter of 2020. Carnahan and Grillo are still looking to deliver a reimagining of the classic action film The Raid although we still wait with bated breath for any and all 411 on that project.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more news to come from Carnahan, Grillo and their War Party banner!
