One of the sub genres of action that I love is the war movie and back in the day HBO dealt out two exhilarating WWII series in Band Of Brothers and The Pacific which hailed from Hollywood Icons Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Both series delivered riveting battle sequences combined with brutal and unforgiving drama highlighting the brave soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the world.

Now Variety is reporting that Hanks and Spielberg are readying a follow up exclusive to the upcoming Apple TV service titled Masters of the Air. “Based on the book by Donald L. Miller, “Masters of the Air” is said to follow the true, deeply personal story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep. The series is being written by “Band of Brothers” alumnus John Orloff, who is also a co-executive producer.” (Per Variety)
Both Hanks and Spielberg, who also brought is what is arguably the best WWII film in Saving Private Ryan, will serve as executive producers on the project which will hail from Apple’s in house production company Masters.
Apple TV is set to launch in March of 2020 which will throw another hat into the ring for the war on streaming service supremacy which sees all the major services jockeying to bring subscribers the finest in exclusive content.
