Does Marvel Want Jon Bernthal’s PUNISHER for the MCU?!

Let me start this list by saying that this is all speculation at this point and I normally don’t dabble in unconfirmed stories but when it comes to Jon Bernthal and his instant classic portrayal of Frank Castle AKA The Punisher then I am all over it.

According to an article per We Got This Covered, Kevin Feige and Marvel are looking at bringing Bernthal’s version of the gun toting vigilante into the MCU. We all know the story by now how Bernthal’s show and the rest of the Marvel/Netflix series were unceremoniously axed as Disney and Netflix parted ways but ever since then, fans have been wishing and hoping that all the characters will see the light of day on another streaming platform.

Per WGTC: “In fact, according to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us Disney was developing an Aladdin sequel and Marvel was bringing Black Knight into the MCU, both of which were later confirmed – Kevin Feige wants Jon Bernthal to return as Frank Castle in future MCU films. It’s unclear which projects the Marvel Studios head wants him in, but one movie that we’ve heard the Punisher could appear in is the rumored Midnight Sons pic.”

Now what really makes this article juicy is that it states that Feige wants Bernthal for the big screen which would truly be bad ass. Unfortunately, we have to wait a few years for any of this to materialize as it’s been documented that none of the Netflix/Marvel characters can grace the screen again until a few years after their date of cancellation.

Ever since the shows ended, rumors have swirled like a tornado that they would be resurrected on other streaming platforms like Hulu which is owned by Disney and TV stations like FX.

I am a huge fan of Bernthal’s version of The Punisher so I have always held out hope that he would don the iconic skull once again for fans to enjoy. If anything, I would love to see him again even if it’s on the small screen again. There are some who fear that if The Punisher does come over to the MCU then he’ll be a watered down version that would be more family friendly. I would hope that they would do the character justice and show him in the proper light.

As a Die Hard Punisher fan, I will continue to monitor this story and lets all hope we get to see Bernthal grunt and scream as he unloads some immense firepower on the bad guys once more. Stay tuned!!!!
