Well it looks like Sly is as undecided with his iconic Rocky films like he is with The Expendables. The Hollywood icon recently was interviewed with Variety about the franchise of the boxing giant and he dropped some major news in that he would love to continue the story of Rocky Balboa in both a new feature film and a prequel TV series.

In the interview Stallone stated that the plot would be a timely one and would see The Italian Stallion taking in a young man who is an illegal immigrant.

“Rocky meets a young, angry person who got stuck in this country when he comes to see his sister. He takes him into his life, and unbelievable adventures begin, and they wind up south of the border. It’s very, very timely.”

Stallone also addressed the fact that he would love to do a TV series that would serve as a prequel of sorts to the Rocky legend.

In another bombshell in the article, Stallone states that he has zero ownership of the character of Rocky and it is s major sore spot to this day. Sly has become rich, of course, with the film’s but he feels that having an equity estate in the franchise was something he could have left his wife and girls.

“I have zero ownership of ‘Rocky,’” Stallone stated. “Every word, every syllable, every grammatical error was all my fault,” he says. “It was shocking that it never came to be, but I was told, ‘Hey, you got paid, so what are you complaining about?’ I was furious.” That said, he blames his own naiveté and lack of business savvy at the time for not pushing the issue hard enough: “You don’t want to ruffle the feathers of the golden goose.”

Stallone has been going back and forth with a fourth Expendables Film as well and recently sparked up debate again on the 4th Of July that he’s working on a new idea for the next entry.

All in all, it appears that Stallone isn’t finished with Rocky yet like he said at the end of filming Creed II so it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Stay tuned for more to come!
