It’s been a ten-year hiatus for visionary filmmaker Na Hong-jin, but he is back and it looks like he’s saved his best for now as a new trailer has just dropped for an apocalyptic themed thriller titled Hope. This one has been gaining momentum with festival viewings and if the initial trailer is any indication, genre fans will be feasting well on this one. Check out the monster induced carnage on display below!
In the remote South Korea village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung- min) and officer Sung-ae (Hoyeon) are called to find a mysterious creature that has wreaked havoc on the village. In the nearby forest, a coterie of hunters, including Sung- ki (Zo In-Sung) set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But all is not as it seems, and perceptions can be misleading. What begins as ignorance plants the seed of disaster, escalating through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.

Na Hong-jin (The Chaser and The Wailing) helms the pic with a stellar and competent cast led by Hwang Jung-min. Hoyeon and Zo In-Sung also star. Oh, and Magneto himself Michale Fassbender also is featured in the film so there’s that draw as well.
