One epic story, two epic movies! Here’s a cool idea that just dropped into my email box this morning and it has Ryan Phillippe dusting off his cinematic special skills once again. Paramount Movies is set to unleash a new survival action-thriller that will be told in two simultaneous films debuting all at once. The movies are called One Mile: Chapter One and One Mile: Chapter Two respectively and Phillippe stars as a former special ops soldier who must dust off his lethal skill set when his daughter is kidnapped on a reconnection trip goes horribly awry. Check out the trailer for the films that also stars genre icon C. Thomas Howell and Amélie Hoeferle!
CHAPTER ONE SYNOPSIS:
Ryan Phillippe stars as a former special forces operative trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter during a college road trip. When an unexpected detour puts them in the sights of a secretive, off-the-grid community, his daughter is taken and the trip erupts into a high-octane fight for survival. Alone and outnumbered, he’s forced to use every skill he has to track them down, take them apart, and bring his daughter home.

CHAPTER TWO SYNOPSIS:
A former special forces operative (Ryan Phillippe) is forced back onto a remote island when the violent, secretive community he fought once before abducts his daughter in an act of revenge. Launched into a relentless hunt, he faces an enemy that’s ready and anticipating his every move.
Adam Davidson helms both films and Chapter One was cowritten by TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson and John Hlavin from a story by John Hlavin and Josh Senter. Chapter Two was penned by TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson from a story by Hlavin and TJ Brady & Rasheed Newson.
I’ve said it multiple times in the past and it looks like my pleas have fallen on deaf ears once again. If you are going to kidnap or do harm to someone, make sure you do your homework and make sure the intended target does not, and I repeat DOES NOT, have a family member that is an ex-special forces bad ass. It never ends well for the bad guys but hey, if they’re not going to pay head to my warnings then at least, we get some kick butt flicks to enjoy.
I love to see Phillippe starring in an action er once again as there was a time not so long ago that he was crushing it in the genre. Phillippe starred on the hit USA series Shooter and also played the led in the action film The 2nd which co-starred Casper Van Dien. Both showcased the fact that he had what it took to play these types of bad ass roles and now he’s back in the element again with this two parter that looks intense, immersive and savage.
