If you thought Aatami Korpi was done eliminating Nazis with extreme prejudice, well guess again, as Sony has issued a savage and balls out trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Sisu: Road to Revenge. Jorma Tommila is back and as brutal as ever as he takes on avatar’s Stephen Lang in the ultimate road trip from hell with bombastic, gory results. Check out the insane new footage below!
Official Synopsis: SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE is a wall-to-wall cinematic action event, a sequel to the original sleeper hit SISU. Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, “the man who refuses to die” (Jorma Tommila) dismantles it, loads it on a truck, and is determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the Red Army commander who killed his family (Stephen Lang from Don’t Breathe) comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues – a fight to the death, full of clever, unbelievable action set pieces.
The budget for Sisu 2 was reportedly bigger than the first and it looks like they used all of it the right way as the trailer features a Mad Max style assault of the senses with sensational vehicular warfare. Adding Stephen Lang, who is one of the most underrated character actors out there, as the main baddie this time is a stroke of genius. There is nothing but carnage and blood dripping mayhem to be had and enjoyed and this one looks tom throw everything into the fold including the kitchen sink.
Sisu: Road to Revenge is also set to hit the Fantastic Fest next month (click the link below for all the festival intel) so fans able to attend will get to check it out early. Jalmari Helander is back in the director’s chair as well and he also wrote the script which bodes well because hardcore fans can expect the same from the filmmaker and with a larger budget, the blood-soaked sky is the limit. Richard Brake rounds out the top cast joining Tommila and Lang for all the ludicrous fun to be had.
