It’s time to welcome action fans to the apocalypse as new key art, or what I like to call poster for old school, for director JJ Perry’s latest full on actioner Afterburn has leaped online. Starring Dave Bautista, Olga Kurylenko and the one and only Samuel L. Jackdon, this one looks locked and loaded with some in your face action design as Bautista goes full on action star just I case you think he hasn’t already. Check out the full one sheet below!

“The apocalypse isn’t for everybody.” A decade after the Earth’s technology is decimated by a solar flare. Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic Earth whose entire Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, leaving what life remains mutated from radiation and fallout. The story revolves around a group of treasure hunters who extract such objects as the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone and the Crown Jewels while facing rival hunters, mutants and pirates.”
This new poster highlights the stellar cast contrary to the first one released which simply showed Bautista in the distance. Key Art these days simply don’t have the impact that they used to back in the 80’s and 90’s but this latest one looks retro cool.
Bautista stars as Jake with Samuel L. Jackson as Valentine, Olga Kurylenko as Drea, with Kristofer Hivju, Eden Epstein, and Daniel Bernhardt. Directed by Day Shift’s JJ Perry, a resident martial arts and stunt expert turned filmmaker, Afterburn looks like a stunt filled and blood-soaked action epic for hardcore fans with Bautista showing ample moments of levity. Perry also directed Bautista in The Killer’s Game and has cut his teeth as a second unit director, stunt coordinator and stuntman on some of the biggest Hollywood films in the past like John Wick and F9.
There is plenty of gratuitous carnage and display and with Perry at the helm, this one looks to check all the boxes with Kurylenko bringing up the rear in the bad ass department. The set pieces look kinetic as hell with some positively creative choreography and Bautista looks all in.
