You had me at R Rated Jurassic Park. Never in my life would I think that I would be able to go see a military war themed action/horror hybrid film with dinosaurs. That is exactly what filmmaker Luke Sparke’s latest movie is in the body shredding instant cult status flick Primitive War. Sparke, best known for his epic and ambitious Sci-Fi flick Occupation and its subsequent sequel Occupation: Rainfall, is one of the best indie filmmakers on the market. Boasting a sensational genre cast including Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) and Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Sparke’s latest is adrenaline laced carnage at its finest merging a Vietnam era war film with dinosaurs for a truly immersive and bombastic experience.
The film is hitting theaters this weekend starting tonight courtesy of Fathom Events and I thought it would be slick to showcase a variety of cast interviews and behind the scenes elements from the making of this film. Check out the cast in action as they hype up what just may be the sleeper hit of the year!
In relation to the cast talking about the film, Sparke has also shared a few behind the scenes videos highlighting the blood, sweat and tears that went into making this completely independent film from Australia.
To reiterate again, this is not a big budget Hollywood blockbuster but a small-scale independent film that will certainly put a lot of those bigger budgeted movies to shame. Word of mouth is this film’s ultimate weapon, so I am doing my best to get the word out and bring this one to the masses. Primitive War also has the distinct honor of being the first Australian independent film to be brought to San Diego Comic Con a few weeks back marking just how impressive and epic this film is.
