I’d like to think that this movie holds a special place in my heart as the star of the movie just visited my place of work for the second time this past Monday. That’s right, Mr. Kellan Lutz and I chatted it up for a little bit and we talked about his latest film Desert Dawn which Saban Films just dropped the official trailer for. He also signed a headshot for me which was pretty damn cool!
Alright, now on with the official trailer release for Desert Dawn which sees Lutz reuniting with his Twilight co-star Cam Gigandet (Never Back Down, Shrapnel) as they take on Sniper franchise star Chad Michael Collins (who I know quite well also) who is going all rogue and villainous this time around as the main antagonist that our boys will have to go to war with. A newly appointed small-town sheriff (Kellan Lutz) and his reluctant deputy (Cam Gigandet) find themselves in a web of lies and corruption when the murder of a mysterious woman leads them to a dangerous conspiracy involving shady businessmen and the cartel.
Helmed by Marty Murray, Lutz, Gigandet and Collins also star along with Niko Foster, Guillermo Ivan, Helena Haro, Texas Battle, Mike Ferguson, and Peter Nikkos. Chad Law (Hey, I know him too!) co-wrote the script with Johnny Walters, and martial arts and action director and choreographer Art Camacho (wait a minute, I know him too).
I think we’ve clarified that I know a lot of people personally that are associated with this action pic so yeah, I have no problem name dropping here. This looks like a guaranteed fun throwback ride in a 90’s DTV glory days kind of way so sign me up as we are treated to various sequences of our stars going tactical and CQB hot and heavy in what looks like enough adrenaline laced scenes to satisfy the most hardcore action cinema fanatic. Me being one of them. Let’s F@cking Go!!!!!
