Since I didn’t share the first trailer for the second season of Andor which hits Disney+ this April, I thought I would rectify that post haste with the new and latest teaser which showcases a spectacle worthy of being called Star Wars. Say what you will about the past Star Wars series, this second season of Andor certainly looks the part of the blockbuster and iconic franchise.
Season 2 takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound,” reads the official synopsis. “Rife with political intrigue and danger, Andor sets the clock back five years from the events of Rogue One to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.
Andor Season 2 stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Alan Tudyk, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.
The new trailer amps up the start of the rebellion, while teasing fans the major plot points that will eventually lead to the feature film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The final season will lay down the foundation over 12 episodes which will be broken down into four chapters of three episodes each. The first season was criticized for its slow pacing but that looks to be cured in the new set of episodes.
