Chester and Joe greet their visitors
For those of you that were disappointed (as I was) in Sylvester Stallone’s latest DTV actioner Armor, this might be the cure for what ails ya as he is starring in yet another DTV actioner that looks subsequently better and he’s teaming up with Clint Eastwood’s son Scott to boot with Mike Colter AKA Luke Cage bringing up the rear on villain duties in the new action pic Alarum. Hailing from director Michael Polish, best known for helming Mel Gibson in Force of Nature, the movie has the distinct title of Alarum, and this one looks to amply check all the boxes when it comes to heavy weaponry, fisticuffs and explosions with Sly and Eastwood teaming up to wage war on the baddies led by a foreign accent wielding Colter. I’m all in so scroll below for the trailer, key art and images below because the bodies will certainly hit the floor!
SYNOPSIS
Academy Award® nominee* Sylvester Stallone, Scott Eastwood, Mike Colter, and Willa Fitzgerald star in this explosive action-thriller about two married spies caught in the crosshairs of an international intelligence network that will stop at nothing to obtain a critical asset. Joe (Eastwood) and Lara (Fitzgerald) are agents living off the grid whose quiet retreat at a winter resort is blown to shreds when members of the old guard suspect the two may have joined an elite team of rogue spies, known as ALARUM.

Set for a limited theatrical run with a day and date release on digital and VOD, this one looks generic but in the best way possible and Stallone, who was criminally underused in Armor, looks to have more to do when it comes to the boom and bang. Eastwood is becoming one of my favorite action leading men with roles in Dangerous, The Fast & Furious films and one of my favorite war movies of all time The Outpost. Colter is always bringing his quintessential A game and seeing him square off here with the old and new guard is a slam dunk for action fans and the action sequences look to satisfy for a Saturday night’s viewing. Did you get the subtle nod to Sly’s Expendables franchise as a certain iconic automatic shotgun makes an appearance and seems to be its own star in the movie as well. Nice touch Sly. Omya KABOOM!
