Hot off the heels that Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell is readying to direct Daisy Ridley in the new action-thriller Dedication, we now have a brand-new trailer for a completed women on a mission actioner starring Eva Green. Titled Dirty Angels, Green assembles a rag tag group of female operatives to infiltrate Afghanistan to rescue a group of teens deep in the heart of Taliban country. Heroism knows no bounds as fans will surely be treated to ferocious military action design coupled with tracer fire, explosions and bravado to the extreme. From Martin Campbell, director of Casino Royale, comes this tense rescue action-thriller. When a group of schoolgirls is taken hostage in Afghanistan, an American soldier named Jake (Eva Green) joins an all-women commando unit to liberate them. The plan: Gain the trust of the terrorists by posing as members of a relief organization. But double-crosses, tragedies, and the ghosts of Jake’s past complicate the rescue in this do-or-die mission.

Nitpicking the trailer, there’s questionable CGI especially with the choppers and explosions which will certainly turn people off. I can be forgiving if the movie serves up solid action. This is the world we live in where practical effects are just too expensive and so CGI is taking over. The muzzle flashes look decent enough and seeing Eva Green go commando is always worth the price of admission alone.
Lionsgate’s Dirty Angels will hit select US theaters, Digital & VOD on December 13th, 2024!
