I would like to introduce you all to The Stoic. Who is that or what is that you may ask? Well for a group of ruthless mercenaries who have kidnapped two innocents, they’re about to find out that no matter how evil you are, there’s always something or someone even more evil on a whole new level.
Saban Films is readying to unleash the taut and brutal new British action-thriller that oozes horror elements in the best way as the slasher genre is about to get a new age upgrade and a facelift as this time the killer is taking out those who deserve it. Check out the latest trailer and key art for director Jonathan Eckersley’s stripped down, savage new take on the anti-hero subgenre with The Stoic!
After a group of mercenaries raid a gang’s den, they flee to a country hideout with two hostages. A Stoic, a member of a criminal clan, enraged about the women’s capture, attacks the mercenaries. The conflict escalates into an explosive showdown between the Stoic and the mercenaries’ ruthless boss determined to kill him.

Eckersley helms from a script he also penned and the cast features Scott Wright as the titular nightmare with Rocci-Boy Williams, Stuart Brennan, George McCluskey with Jason Flemyng rounding out the cast.
The Stoic reminds me of old school schlock thrills but in the best way imaginable like the iconic films cult classic films like Death Wish and Vigilante that almost crossed the line of decency and unflinching violence. Indie action cinema is still keeping the throwback vibe of the 80’s and 90’s alive in this day and age of political correctness and cancellation and still looks to give the finger to decency upon occasion. Wright’s portrayal of the main killer is definitely sporting a Punisher vibe on steroids and all he needs is the iconic skull on his chest to punctuate the feel. I’m all in!
On VOD & Digital: October 18, 2024 from Saban Films!
