Last year saw a new generation of action film festival hit with a collective bang as the Big bad Film Fest invaded Glendale, California with a host of adrenaline infused action film titles and short films. The lineup was a veritable cornucopia of high-octane goodness including Toei’s G-Men, the Thai hyper-kinetic actioner Kitty the Killer, and the indie action sensation Layers of Lies which was a fest favorite. Those in attendance were also given some classic choices ranging from the cult Korean hit Man from Nowhere and the first ever theater showing of Undisputed 3: Redemption which included an intro from action star Scott Adkins himself.
This year for, its sophomore effort, the stakes are even higher with more movies that are surely going to scratch that action itch that fans have when it comes to seeing firepower, explosions and fisticuffs on the big screen. In August, diehard film buffs who view action cinema as a religion will be treated to movies courtesy of Netflix, MGM, Well Go USA’s HI-YAH! label and more. Just to give you a sampling of the ferocity that will be on hand, there will be screenings of Bren Foster’s monstrous martial arts hit Life After Fighting which I consider one of the best films of 2024 as well as the world premiere of the hard-hitting action-thriller Bangkok Dog which stars martial arts sensation D.Y. Sao from the hit flick Shadow Master.
There will be no shortage of fuse lit action adrenaline during the festival’s run from Friday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 25th so buckle up, jock up, tack up and scroll below for the complete itinerary of the Big Bad Film Fest for 2024!!!
