The wait is almost over as this Thursday, August 1st will see the release of action star and filmmaker Alexander Nevsky’s all-star western sequel Taken from Rio Bravo. The former bodybuilding champ is ready to come out guns blazing once again as he stars once again as the black clad gunslinger who takes on an army in what Nevsky promises as a “wild, action-filled tale of gunslinging, friendships, and the battles between good and evil.” Just like the first film, Nevsky is bringing the elite action backup as DTV 90’s heavy Matthias Hues is back as well as martial arts/action icons Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock (Lady Dragon) who makes their first appearances in the franchise.
The movie will hit theaters as well as XUMO PLAY this August 1st so check out the press release, trailer, key art and exclusive images below!

“I’m really happy that TAKEN FROM RIO BRAVO will be presented to the millions of viewers on Xumo Play! I know this great platform is part of NBCUniversal and has a huge audience of movie fans in the US. I can’t wait to show my new Western on August 1st!” – says Alexander Nevsky.

“As the director of TAKEN FROM RIO BRAVO, I am pleased and excited to announce the domestic release of the film in limited theaters and on Xumo Play. This is the second feature in the RIO BRAVO western franchise. With the placement of TAKEN FROM RIO BRAVO on the Xumo Play platform, we will have the opportunity to present the film to the widest possible audience. I hope everyone has as much fun watching the second installment as they did with GUNFIGHT AT RIO BRAVO!” – says Joe Cornet.

Official Synopsis: 1874, East Texas. Mysterious gunslinger Ivan Turchin (Alexander Nevsky) and small town sheriff Vernon Kelly (Joe Cornet) pursue the Posse, a group of sadistic human traffickers who have kidnapped five women. Along with an Indian scout (Don “The Dragon” Wilson), they race against time to find and free the women before the traffickers sell them to sex-slave buyers at the Mexican border.
Nevsky’s first installment Gunfight at Rio Bravo was a perfect throwback indie actioner with the action star starring in his very first western. The film was locked and loaded with sensational gunfights including an electrifying finale where Nevsky’s mysterious gunslinger went into full-on one-man army mode. The trailer for the sequel promises more of the same so get ready for maximum pistol packing violence, bravado and theatrics that only Nevsky and company can provide. Veteran action maestro Art Camacho serves up the action design so expect to see your action gods deliver the breakneck goods when this one hits. It looks to encompass the perfect mixture of martial arts laced fisticuffs and no survivor gunfights.
