SPOILERS AHEAD!!! No really! This is the final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. Disney says so right in the title for this latest trailer that reveals even more reveals we didn’t want to see like Dafne Keen returning as Laura AKA X-23. Listen, I assumed that she was in it, but it would have been nice to be surprised when I sat down to watch this f**cking film. Oh, and there’s also a huge article at EW with Dafne talking about her return and working with Jackman again so I’m not the only one spoiling all the fun for ya. BTW Disney, I bought my tickets weeks ago just like a million other fandom fanatics so you can stop giving us trailers with a week to go. Anyway, roll the footage…
Keen joins the other cameos that have been spoiled in past trailers including Tyler Mane’s Sabretooth, Aaron Stanford’s Pyro, and Kelly Hu’s Lady Deathstrike who all have been featured prominently in other marketing footage. I’m sure that there will be many more surprises and jaw dropping cameos but for once I’d like a big budget studio to just simply give us one trailer with just enough and say, “here ya go!” Alas that’s not the age we live in.
Keen, of course starred with Jackman in the highly regarded Logan which is considered by many to be the best comic book movie ever. Laura (X-23) is a clone of Wolverine as she was created by the Essex Corporation when they acquired Logan’s blood, and she was teased at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse. The plot of Logan saw everyone’s favorite grumpy mutant reluctantly help Laura as well as a slew of other tender age mutants who were in danger from being eradicated by nefarious forces. As we all know, Wolverine dies in Laura’s arms, and she subsequently buries him in the movie’s final and depressing sequence that made us all cry, The final shot of the movie sees a makeshift cross turned sideways to form an X. Well, all of that is moot as we see Laura talking to Logan as he states that he’s the wrong guy for the job to which Laura replies, “you were always the wrong guy, until you weren’t.” Hopefully that scene and line stays in because it is powerful stuff.
Logan also talks about the iconic yellow suit he now sports in the movie, and he says that Scott and Jean always wanted him to wear the uniform but that it was now too late. We don’t see any shots of Logan wearing the mask which is one good thing, and we will actually see it for the first time in the theater.
Oh! Here’s a full shot of Lady Deadpool from this last trailer as well! She’s wearing the mask of course. Who could it be?! At this point, I could really give two s**ts.
There are other things in the trailer, but I have talked enough and spoiled enough.
Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters…Oh hell! You know when it friggin’ comes out.
