This is the world in which we live in. Back in the day and before social media assaulted everything that we know, we got one maybe two trailers tops to movies and we would have to watch them if we were lucky in the actual cinema before the movie we came to see. It was like a nice surprise and most old school trailers not only had awesome voiceovers, but they also had an air of mystery that left you wanting more so you’d actually be surprised when you saw the damn film.
In today’s world and with the internet and social media, we are besieged by numerous trailers for just one movie and many times, the movie is spoiled for you even before you see the film in its entirety. Remember Terminator: Genysis? That’s an infamous ad campaign that spoiled the fate of John Connor and I haven’t forgiven them. It doesn’t help that the movie was fathoms below franchise standards as well.
Now we have the third and final trailer for Alien Romulus and with it, this one is almost 3 minutes in length and gets rater spoilery when it comes to the fate of certain characters. The first promo was perfect as it was short amid sweet and left a lot to the imagination with the second one running a little longer but still not giving away too, too much. Now we have trailer #3 and with it I give you spoilers! Damn you 20th Century Fox…oops…I mean…20th century Films. I could choose not to watch but I run an action film website, so I’m inclined to check things out to give the audience, my opinion. My opinion on this one is pretty much what I think of all trailers these days.
Anyway, watch the final IMAX trailer for Alen: Romulus below or don’t if you want to go in not knowing a lot. Me? I’m going to beat my head against the wall because I hate how society is these days especially when it comes to trailers and giving everything away.
The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

We do get some more plot points with this final tease as we learn that the unfortunate young crew who are going to experience one massive nightmare while they’re still awake are indeed scavengers who infiltrate a derelict space station called Romulus in order to ransack it for parts to sell so that can make a better life for themselves. Things go horribly awry when they discover that sinister things were afoot here, and they are going to come face to face with the galaxy’s most feared and savage creature. The IMAX trailer also gives us more of a look at this new and improved Xenomorph and it is one nasty bitch.
Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), David Jonsson (Industry), Isabela Merced (Madame Web), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (The Batman), and Aileen Wu (Away from Home) star with Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez directs and promises a return to form with this one similar to Ridley Scott’s original classic while implementing a little of James Cameron’s epic and iconic sequel infused into it as well.
