If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. that’s my motto and one that can be applied here for this article as genre actors of films and TV, Wentworth Miller & Dominic Purcell, are reuniting once again for a new covert ops series that deals with global hostage retrieval. Miller and Purcell first starred together as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in FOX’s outstanding thriller series Prison Break which ran for four seasons and spawned a movie and revival as well. The two would link up again for The CW’s DC run in the shows The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow where Miller played Leonard Snart (Captain Cold), and Purcell played Mick Rory (Heat Wave). The two established actors are gold together and Universal Television is banking on that as they are set to reunite once again.

The new series is called Snatchback and it hails from Scott Rosenbaum who is no slouch in TV as he is responsible for writing and executive producing The Shield which was the ferocious cop drama starring Michael Chicklis. The new series will see both Miller and Purcell as members of an elite covert ops unit who specializes in retrieving hostages from some of the most dangerous locales in the world. Inspired by the life of a real covert intelligence officer who is still active in the field today, the series follows a highly skilled privately contracted team of operatives as they recover hostages across the globe from some of the most exotic, and equally dangerous locations on the planet.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see both actors team up again for a deliciously sounding covert ops actioner where they manhandle kidnappers while saving lives. With SEAL Team ending this year, I have been wondering what new show will take over as my latest favorite. Will Snatchback be the one to fill the void? We shall see.
