It’s Hong Kong adrenaline time as our friends over at Asian Film Fans have recently debuted a new trailer for the Nicholas Tse led actioner Customs Frontline which hails from famed action director Herman Yau (Shock Wave 2). Jacky Cheung (Bodyguards & Assassins) joins Tse as the two navigate a hail of tracer fire, explosions and death-defying stunts all in the name of entertainment. One important note to tell you all is that veteran action star, martial artist, action expert and fight choreographer Brahim Chab, who is fresh off creating the insane fight action for the new hit film Monkey Man, will be in front of the camera as the film’s villain. Along with starring in the movie, Tse also handled the fight coordination so expect a lot of what you saw in the trailer. Karena Lam (Integrity) and Francis Ng (Line Walker 2) round out the cast.
Tse was fantastic as the antagonist going head-to-head with Donnie Yen in the award-winning actioner Raging Fire delivering an abundance of fisticuffs and firepower, so it’ll be nice to see him in the heroic lead with Customs Frontline. Tse is such a charismatic actor that he is one of few that can pull off both the good guy and bad guy roles in action films. He definitely is channeling thematic heroics on another level here with some amazing set pieces, so this is at the top of my watch list when the film makes it stateside.
Customs Frontline is set to hit domestic theaters on July 5th with international launches currently pending.
