I really don’t understand the hate for The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling which is reimagining of the classic 80’s TV action series with Lee Majors, but I think it looks like a helluva good time. Yes, it looks nothing like the show, but then again did we want it too and I feel action maestro David Leitch, who helmed, and his 87North production banner is about to deliver one of the most adrenaline pumping action comedies for 2023 with insane, signature stunts that Leitch is known for. Take a scroll down below and check out the latest trailer featuring Gosling and his newest audition to be one of this generation’s ultimate action stars!
Official Synopsis: Oscar® nominee Ryan Gosling (Barbie, La La Land, Drive) stars as Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman who, having left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health, is drafted back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie—being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place films, Sicario)—goes missing.
While the film’s ruthless producer (Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham; Ted Lasso), maneuvers to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson; Bullet Train) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt performs the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to charm his way back into Jody’s good graces. But as the mystery around the missing star deepens, Colt will find himself ensnared in a sinister, criminal plot that will push him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.

Throw in the fact that Gosling and co-star Emily Blunt look like they have sensational chemistry together and this might be one gigantic popcorn chomping summertime hit. Plus, to go along with all the fun and heart stopping action set pieces. I mean you can’t beat Gosling throwing up double middle fingers before jumping out of a helicopter. Haters on this one are just looking for an excuse to be Mr. or Ms. Grumpy Pants. I’m in and Can. Not. Wait.
Leitch will most certainly shine a light on the stunt professional world which needs way more love from the industry and mainstream public. After all, these brave men and women essentially put their lives in danger so we can be entertained while merely sitting on a movie theater seat.
Prepare to fall hard and support action cinema on May 3rd when Gosling, Blunt and The Fall Guy explode into theaters and IMAX from Universal Pictures!!!!
