With a release only three some odd months away, production has officially wrapped on Bad Boys 4 which sees franchise stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returning as detectives Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett respectively. Smith made the announcement that filming is in the can with a personal image of himself and his ride or die partner fist bumping. The film is set for a June 7th release which will see it go head-to-head with The Crow reboot starring Bill Skarsgard. Something tells me Mike and Marcus will win this competition come opening weekend. Scroll below to see the boys!

Along with the new image of the boys, Smith captioned the social media offering saying: “WRAPPED! Nothin’ but Magic every time I’m with my guy. See y’all June 7 for Bad Boys 4!!“
The last sequel, Bad Boys for Life, hit theaters almost twenty years after the release of the second movie. The third film was a huge success and was actually the last big flick to hit before the pandemic shut everything down so talk of another outing was almost immediately started. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who helmed the third, returned to direct Bad Boys 4, with cameras rolling last April. Production was halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike but it’s now in the can with post ongoing as we speak.
I remember when Smith and Lawrence announced a fourth movie on social media and infused their rapid-fire humor in saying that they should have saved the Bad Boys for Life title for the fourth movie seeing as you could substitute a number 4 for the word for. Smith jokingly stated that they didn’t think that one through but I’m sure Bad Boys 4 won’t be the final title. One title could be Bad Boys Ride or Die but co-director Adil El Arbi doesn’t think the studio will use it and expressed his disappointment in using Bad Boys for Life already not knowing that they would make a fourth film.
Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Núñez who all co-starred in the third film as a younger unit of cops who eventually help out the boys on a personal mission. New cast additions for the fourth include Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, and Rhea Seehorn. One important casting change involves Theresa Randle who played Marcus’ wife in all three entries. She is replaced by Tasha Smith.
Well, Bad Boys 4, as it’s known by now, hits theaters on June 7th so expect a trailer to hit anytime with the short turnaround from wrapping production to the release.
