Kneel before the Kings baby! I stated this week that I dropped the ball when the first trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire hit by not posting it right away. There really is no excuse as a lifelong fan of all things Kaiju but it really was a rough patch for me at the time and it still is but I’m beginning to lift myself back up and shake the dust off. Action-Flix is rectifying that initial mistake by dropping the brand-new trailer for the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures MonsterVerse follow up which sees the two most iconic monsters uniting to save the world from an even more nefarious threat…The Scar King. If the sight of Godzilla and Kong charging side by side in the first teaser wasn’t enough to get your inner 9-year-old screaming, then by all means, check out the awesomeness of this latest trailer that sells the movie even more with both Kings proving why they’re the greatest of all time!
This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

Cast members returning from the previous film include Rebecca Hall who stars as monster expert Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry who offered levity as conspiracy theorist Bernie Hayes, and Kaylee Hottle will also be back as Jia who was the young girl who befriended Kong. New additions include Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok), Alex Ferns (The Batman), Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and Mercy Cornwall (Dive Club). Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens is also in the movie as an expert in all things Titan.
Teaming Godzilla and Long up was a stroke of genius and even with the cheesy 60’s film which does hold a special place in my heart, I have to say that besides the original Godzilla and the recent Godzilla Minus One, these are my favorite Kaiju themed films. This latest trailer is packed with all the monster creating havoc and chaos that fans can hope for, and I do hope they hold off on showing us everything. Give us some surprises when we sit down in our theater seats to partake in all the Kaiju monster goodness. I always said, they had me at Godzilla and Kong so everything else is just feet stomping buildings greatness.
The monstrous success of Godzilla Minus One at the worldwide box office couldn’t have happened ata better time sand is most likely going to roll over into Godzilla x Kong and right now, this IP has never been hotter, so it bodes well for this latest entry that hits next month.
Godzilla Vs Kong helmer Adam Winegard returns in the director’s chair and he’ll be the first to helm more than one MonsterVerse film. Winegard and Stevens have worked together on genre bending thriller The Guest which was a huge sleeper hit.
Prepare for the ultimate throwdown when GxK hits theaters and crowd-pleasing IMAX on March 29th!!!
