Action-Flix.com is debuting an exclusive clip from the brand-new six-shooter blazing western Calamity Jane which reunites Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards of the hit CW and DC series Arrow. The thriller stars Rickards as the titular anti-heroine who sparks a trail of vengeance as she goes gunning for those that shot down Wild Bill (Amell). Fans of Rickards will definitely want to see her in this movie as she sheds her Arrow character persona for a hard driving cowgirl with impeccable aim. Directed by Terry Miles (Dawn Rider) and co-written by Leon Langford and Collin Watts (Hot Seat), Calamity Jane also stars Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp), Priscilla Faia (You Me Her), Gage Marsh (It Lives Inside), Garrett Black (Riverdale), Christian Sloan (Star Trek Beyond), Troy Mundle (Prey), and Spencer Borgeson (EXMas).
After Wild Bill (Amell) is killed in a poker game, Calamity Jane (Rickards) must break out of prison and seek revenge before the Deadwood’s Sheriff (Rozon) can arrest them.
The home video and digital market has been flooded with westerns as of late but here we have Rickards leading the way with a strong female role. Not that I don’t like to see the guys blast away in all the recent output as main stars but it’s stellar to see Rickards headline this female centric western and get out of her comfort zone and hit a home run as the legendary gunfighter.
