Sam Hargrave is one of a current crop and a successful trend of stuntmen and fight choreographers turning into filmmakers and delivering top tier product in the action genre. Hargrave is best known for doubling Chris Evans as Captain America and being the go-to guy for MCU stunts before transitioning into directing. Hargrave has since helmed the highly successful Extraction franchise for Netflix starring fellow MCU star Chris Hemsworth. The two installments definitely deserved to be shown on the biggest screen in theaters and fans cannot wait for more to come.
Well, it’s not Extraction 3 yet but Deadline is reporting that Hargrave is enlisting to helm the graphic novel adaptation Kill ‘Them All (Not to be confused with the JCVD DTV actioner Kill ‘Em All or the one starring Johnny Messner and Gordon Liu). The project has been greenlit at Paramount Pictures with the source material created by Kyle M. Starks. James Coyne has been hired to adapt the screenplay for the screen.
According to Deadline: The graphic novel follows an elite female assassin who finds out she is going to be “terminated” by the criminal syndicate she’s been loyal to and decides to take them out first. Joining forces with a hard-drinking ex-cop, she embarks on a relentless, action-packed assault through the 15 floors of the syndicate’s headquarters. Her ultimate target: the Boss, with whom she has a complicated past.
Now the plot is action fare standards with yet another assassin being hunted by the same organization that once enlisted her services but with Hargrave involved, this one can be elevated to tier one status. The graphic novel is certainly channeling The Raid mixed with that one movie called John Wick, so this continues that trend. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec will produce via Saw Mill.
