Another actor who has quietly acquired a few action role credits to his name is Josh Duhamel. Usually known for Rom-Coms and Drama, Duhamel has been featured in some adrenaline powered product including Netflix’s Blackout as well as Michael Bay’s first trilogy of Transformers movies, with the latter being his most high profile gig to date.
Duhamel certainly has leading man chops and is believable in the physical department so it makes since that he showcases it in a few actioners. With all that said, Duhamel is headlining a new action spec called Off the Grid which sees Greg Kinnear starring in as well.
Deadline has made the official announcement for the movie which will launch worldwide sales at this week’s AFM. It is also one of a handful of projects that has been given the coveted SAG Interim agreement which means the movie can go into production even with the actors strike still ongoing.
In the film, a scientist (Duhamel) steals an experiment and hides off the grid in Europe to prevent it from becoming weaponized. His former research partner (Kinnear), along with an extraction team, is sent in to find him and locate the missing experiment. Per Deadline
