Back in July, indie filmmaker and actor Nathan Shepka brought to my attention a few of his films that he’s done and being a fan of throwback style action movies that like to poke fun at themselves, I immediately checked them out. Shepka first made the action-comedy Holiday Monday along with friend and co-star Colin MacDougall and what the movie lacked in terms of budget and time, it more than made up for it with attitude and good ‘old fashioned action and violence.
His follow up, aptly named Lock and Load, brings his character of Nick and MacDougall’s Derek back for more chaos and one liners and this entry amps up the set pieces including ample helpings of gunfights and brawls. It’s fun and if you get what Shepka is selling, you’ll enjoy yourself as well.
I’m happy to say that Lock and Load will hopefully find an audience as it’s set to hit November 7 on Digital and VOD courtesy of Vision Films. For the release, new key art and trailer are now available for you to partake in so by all means do so below!
Official Synopsis: Private security personnel Nick and Derek investigate the disappearance of their friend Agent Stokes after an undercover sting operation to trap international arms dealer Miles Steiger goes wrong.

Shepka wrote the screenplay as well as directed and you can see that he has a love for action related movies as it comes off the screen. Particularly the 80’s when the one liners zinged through the air faster than bullets.
Lock and Load is a definite bright entry in the indie action genre. There’s plenty of action and violence and our heroes are up to the challenge of entertaining. Some will dismiss the roughness of some of it but true action disciples will certainly gravitate towards it.
I hope that Shepka and company have more stories to tell and more ammunition to spend as Lock and Load certainly earns its title. Full tilt buddy action is the name of the game and fans will clamor for more.
