The Monsterverse is in full effect as we are about to get a brand new event series based on the Legendary Pictures property that combines such iconic movie monsters as Godzilla and Kong. With a new movie hopefully coming next year, we now have the Apple+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters to sink our Kaiju appetites into and Godzilla is still king in the latest trailer for the show that boasts a star studded cast including not one but two Russells in Kurt and his son Wyatt. Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
This most recent delivers even more of Kurt Russell along with his son Wyatt which is casting gold. There are even more sightings of newer monsters that we haven’t seen in any of the previous Godzilla or King Kong films to date. Along with the monster damage, we are also treated to a mystery that is teased that will truly put more of the plot into perspective.
Besides the upcoming TV adaptation, there is also be a brand new fifth entry to the blockbuster film franchise titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which as of now is currently set April 12, 2024 but with everything that is going on in Hollywood, that can change at anytime so Lock N Load right here for future Intel to follow!
