It’s time to dust off those boots, find that perfect 10 gallon hat, relaid the six shooters and saddle up! One of my most favorite westerns of all time is coming to 4K to commemorate its 35th anniversary!
Young Guns is one of the most iconic 80’s westerns with a young cast all in their prime including brothers Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen. Not to forget that Dermot Mulroney and Casey Siemaszko who were just getting their feet wet in the industry. Wrapping it up we had a pre-Jack Bauer Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips who was becoming quite the action star in that decade that would roll over to the 90’s.
This was one fantastic ensemble that would ride the trails and go out in a blaze of glory as the film was loaded with great chemistry from the stars and exhilarating action set pieces including a guns blazing finale. The music was also an amazing fit for the movie as it mixed old school western vibes with a more modern zing to match the young stars of the movie who truly made this western wild.
Young Guns might night be as legendary as The Magnificent Seven, and of Clint Eastwood’s famous spaghetti westerns or Unforgiven but it’s still an iconic and rousing epic from the 80’s that spawned an equally eclectic sequel.
