The lotto-win hostage flick is from feature debut filmmaker and Emmy-nominated Daniel (“Dan”) Brown and stars Jessica Garza (“The Purge”, “Six”, Penny Dreadful: City of Angles) alongside Angus Cloud (“Euphoria”), marking one of his final performances.
Brown’s effortlessly charismatic film doesn’t hold back on the action, while at the same time diving into these individuals’ ethical dilemmas and questionable decisions when faced with the chance of extreme financial gain. As the spiraling pressure cooker life-or-death situation unravels in the small convenience store on Christmas Eve, it becomes evident that the poisonous heart of the American dream can actually be a nightmare.
Your Lucky Day truly looks like a claustrophobic nightmare and it just capitalizes on how greed can truly make people do the most heinous things to others when that green paper is involved.
The release of this movie is bittersweet as Angus Cloud passed away prematurely not too long ago. This being his last movie will definitely be a selling point for many especially his fans who will want to see his final performance as it looks like a good one.
