Being an action film blogger, it would be criminal for me not to tell you what a deal the HI-YAH! martial arts streaming service from Well Go USA is. At 3.99 a month, fans get a bevy of fisticuffs and firepower filled entertainment with original movies premiering every month. I’ve had the pleasure of advertising for the service for a few years now and the month of August is going to be scorching in terms of the content coming on! Check it out!
First up, we have international action star Max Zhang (Master Z, Escape Plan: The Extractors) hitting this Friday with the military actioner Wolf Pack. I’ve yet to see this one as it’s only had a limited theatrical release in the states thus far but it’s had some pretty rough reviews so I’m intrigued to finally check it out. The trailers have been filled with action to spare and I think this is one that you’ll just have to switch your brain off and enjoy. It’s a possible guilty pleasure (again, I hate that term) but I’ve been known to like bad movies here and there so who knows.
In Wolf Pack, Zhang stars and “while seeking answers about his father’s death, a tactically trained physician infiltrates a mercenary group and uncovers aninternational conspiracy.”

Next up, we have one that I have seen and gave it a favorable review while I normally don’t gravitate towards Wuxia movies and wire work. It’s Sakra with Donnie Yen and even with its flaws, the action icon elevates this period epic with some sweeping and breathtaking visuals and fight choreography.
Yen also helmed the pic and it is based off Jin Yong’s 1963 novel, Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. Sakra hits later this month on August 18th and is a HI-YAH! exclusive. Check out my exclusive review of Sakra here!
HI-YAH has more Donnie Yen action for you as they are premiering four more episodes of his hit 1995 series Fists of Fury which is based off Bruce Lee’s iconic 1972 film. The late, great Bennie Chan, who helmed Yen’s classic Raging Fire, also directed a host of episodes. Episodes 21 to 24 will hit 8/4, 8/11, 8/18 and 8/25 respectively.
