There are some plots to action movies that just sound hella cool and I have one for you today courtesy of Netflix which is set to unleash the new actioner Soulcatcher this Wednesday! Elite soldiers are about to engage in war with the ultimate WMD that turns innocent civilians into stone cold, crazed killers. Told ya it was cool but don’t take my word for it…Check out the trailer below!
Official Synopsis: A military contractor hired to seize a weapon that turns people into savage killers seeks revenge when his brother falls victim to the device.
The film hails from Polish director and filmmaker Daniel Markowicz, who is best known for the action films Lesson Plan and Bartowiak which are also featured on the streaming service. Usually Poland isn’t the go to country for action but they have been steadily cranking out some decent product as of late. I was able to watch Lesson Plan recently and it was a solid little indie actioner with ample doses of martial arts mayhem.
SOULCATCHER stars Piotr Witkowski who was also featured in Bartkowiak and supporting cast members include Jacek Koman as well as Jacek Poniedzialek, Mariusz Bonaszewski, Aleksandra Adamska, Vansh Luthra, Sebastian Stankiewicz, Mateusz Mlodzianowski, Michalina Olszanska, Michal Burdan, Mateusz Rzezniczak and Jacek Knap.
I’ve said in the past that Netflix is an untapped source for solid international action movies and this one looks pretty damn good. It looks polished, slick and the set pieces look equivalent to a blockbuster with heavy doses of bullets, explosions, practical effects and stunts. You know…how they used to do it in the 80’s and 90’s.
Soulcatcher is set to blasts its way onto Netflix this Wednesday, August 2nd!
