What’s better than watching The Stath go to war once again with prehistoric Megalodon sharks? Well, add in martial arts and international action star Wu Jing (The Wolf Warrior franchise) to back him up! That’s what action fans will get this August when Warner Bros unleashed Meg 2: The Trench in theaters worldwide.
To celebrate the release date of August 4th getting closer, we have four new posters for you to fear your eyes at with two of them featuring our heroic shark killing duo!
Jason Statham returns as the heroic rescue diver Jonas Taylor and returning co-stars from the first film include Cliff Curtis, Shuya Sophia Cai, and Page Kennedy. Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Apocalypse), Skyler Samuels (The Gifted), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood), and, of course, action sensation Wu Jing are new additions along for the adventure.
Ben Wheatley helms this time around from a script penned by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber who all wrote the first one. Unfortunately, reports of a much bloodier 2nd go around were false as Meg 2 is once again rated PG-13 for action/violence, some bloody images, language and brief suggestive material.
I’m still on board though as the trailer looks kick ass with Statham literally kicking one of the sharks in the snout. Throw in Wu Jing jumping out of a chopper and this one has summer good time written all over it.
