I finally realized that there is enough film and TV acquisition news these days as I’ve finally made it its own category on the site. Simply called Action Acquisitions, I have my first article and it comes from Action-Flix friend and veteran action scribe and producer Chad Law who co-wrote the script with fellow genre expert Shane Dax Taylor. This film sound deliciously intense as it takes our most favorite genres and throws them on their heads. titled Til Death Do Us Part, the thriller boasts a sensational cast including Cam Gigandet (Twilight, Never Backdown), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, Speed 2: Cruise Control), Natalie Burn (Black Adam, The Enforcer) and Orlando Jones (The Time Machine, Drumline). Pretty impressive if you ask me. Check out the full press release below as the film has been picked up by Cinedigm for a North American theatrical summer release!

LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Cinedigm announced today that the Company has acquired all North American rights to the highly anticipated revenge flick Til Death Do Us Part. The Company plans to release the film exclusively in theaters nationwide this summer.
Til Death Do Us Part is a uniquely entertaining, genre-bending ride led by Cam Gigandet (Twilight, Never Backdown), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, Speed 2: Cruise Control), Natalie Burn (Black Adam, The Enforcer) and Orlando Jones (The Time Machine, Drumline).
Directed by Emmy® Award Winner Timothy Woodward Jr., Til Death Do Us Part portrays the grim reality that not every romance story ends with happily ever after. After running away on her wedding day, a bride-to-be must fight for survival against her ex-fiancé’s seven deadly groomsmen. In the ultimate horror showdown, the groomsmen soon discover that she has no intention of going back to the life she left behind.
“In Til Death Do Us Part a fierce female protagonist breaks free from her former fiancé and their corrupt way of life. It seamlessly blends the stylish violence of John Wick with the bloody revenge tale of Kill Bill, and this story reminds us that reclaiming our lives at any cost is non-negotiable,” said Yolanda Macias, Chief Content Officer at Cinedigm. “With heart-stopping suspense and blood-soaked kills, Til Death Do Us Part promises to be an unforgettable ride for fans when it hits the big screen this coming wedding season.”
Co-written by Chad Law (Black Water) and Shane Dax Taylor (Isolation), Til Death Do Us Part also stars Ser’Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), D.Y. Sao (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Neb Chupin (Mindcage, Acceleration) and Pancho Moler (3 from Hell). The film is produced by Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination), Woodward Jr./Status Media and Entertainment and Burn/Born To Burn Films. Reddick and Woodward Jr. previously collaborated on the popular horror films The Final Wish & The Call, both starring genre legend Lin Shaye. The film’s Executive Producers include Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor, with Thomas Mann and Neb Chupin acting as Co-Executive Producers.
The deal was negotiated by Macias, on behalf of Cinedigm, and Woodward Jr. on behalf of the film.
OK, let me just say that you had me at “seven deadly groomsmen.” Talk about one hell of a story that you don’t see every day in action or horror flicks. I must admit that I’m burnt out on Rom Coms and especially wedding themed Rom Coms so to have a movie like this throw that particular genre right on top of its head is nothing short of spectacular. Turning a tried and true female centric storyline and turning into a bloody savage fight for survival in the vein of John Wick and Kill Bill has definitely put this one firmly on my radar, Law never disappoints with his films so anytime one pops up, you can bet that Action-Flix will be there to cover it. While we wait for more details on Til Death Do Us Part, check out my exclusive chat with Chad “the Man” Law on The Action Fix Podcast below! We talked about his then newest film Section 8 but I managed to have him spill the beans on pretty much all the other films he’s been associated with.
Shane Dax Taylor just recently directed his first full on action flick called The Best Man which starred Dolph Lundgre, Brendin Fehr and Luke Wilson. Taylor also co-wrote the script for the Scott Adkins led Close Range which he also did with Chad Law so with these two at the helm of writing duties, expect massive action and great storytelling. I also interviewed Taylor recently for The Best Man and he did kind of mention that he had another film in the works with Law so check out our exclusive chat on The Action Fix Podcast below!
Cam Gigandet has always been a favorite of mine and I feel he is one hell of an action star that seems to always fly under the radar with an adrenaline pumping action flick. I always felt his Ryan McCarthy in Never Back Down was more bad ass and hateful than Johnny Lawrence and he was masterful in both the fight sequences and the ruthlessness dramatic moments.
