Sweet Tooth is coming! Sweet Tooth is coming! Peacock has unloaded a brand new teaser for its highly anticipated video game adaptation series Twisted Metal which sees MCU alum Anthony Mackie loading up for carmageddon with plenty of heavy weaponry. Take a peek at the short but Sweet Tooth teaser in the player below! Editor’s note: The word carmageddon is just an adjective used to describe the show. It’s not that I thought it was a different video game. It’s just a word to describe it.

The teaser is that a teaser and is very brief, and it highlights star Anthony Mackie who plays John Doe locking and loading with his weapon and his ultra important music playlist before and then it does a quick cut to a depressing view of the world which has become apocalyptic. The highlight of the teaser ends with an iconic laugh that is very Joker-esque as we get a tease of the popular game character Sweet Tooth. It’s short but it’s enough to grab genre addicts’ attentions.

Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Will Arnett, and AEW wresting icon Samoa Joe also star in the series with Joe Playing Sweet Tooth and Arnett providing his voice.

Anthony Mackie leads the cast in the series as John Doe, “a smart-ass milkman who talks as fast as he drives. With no memory of his past, John gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make his wish of finding community come true, but only if he can survive an onslaught of savage vehicular combat.”

Thomas Haden Church (We Bought a Zoo) is Agent Stone, “a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgements. Agent Stone will stop at nothing to bring law and order back to the Divided States of America, and will kill anyone in his path who defies his power”

Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) is Quiet, “a ferocious, badass car thief who acts purely on instinct – you couldn’t stop her any more than a manhole could stop a volcano. Coming from a community that oppressed her into silence, Quiet’s wish is to find her place in this dark, chaotic world. But when she becomes clouded by her need for revenge, Quiet forms an unlikely, antagonistic bond with John Doe”

Neve Campbell (Scream Franchise) is portraying a new character named Raven. Not much is known about her role so we will see when a much longer preview hits.

Official Synopsis: Based on an original take by Deadpool and Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the adaptation of the Twisted Metal video game franchise will center on a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

I must admit, I’m not much of a gamer but I have dabbled and this is one game I played and I do enjoy off the wall, sci-fi action infused shows like this. Mackie is always solid and the cast will assuredly bring it. Of course, I’m patiently waiting for an extended look but I like what I see so far as the look and feel is spot on from the game.
