Well, Neeson is still trucking along and now it’s being reported that he’s going to get back behind the wheel for the sequel Ice Road: Road to the Sky. This is a sequel, of course, to the hit Netflix thriller. The follow-up will find Neeson driving the harsh roads of the mountains of Nepal. Yep, Neeson’s going to the Himalayas! If you ask me, if someone told me that’s where I’d be working and driving a truck, I’d respectfully decline but Neeson is a man’s man so sign him up!

After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver (Neeson) must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Contending with thawing waters and a massive storm, they discover the real threat is one they never saw coming, The sequel will see Neeson return as ‘big-rig’ ice road driver Mike McCann who, honoring his late brother’s last wish, travels to Nepal to scatter his ashes on Mt. Everest. While on a packed tour bus traversing the deadly 12,000 ft. terrain of the infamous Road to the Sky, Mike and his mountain guide encounter a group of Nepalese mercenaries and must fight not only to save themselves and the busload of innocent travelers, but also the local villagers’ homeland, reads the official synopsis per Deadline

Jonathan Hensleigh (Die Hard with a Vengeance, Armageddon, Jumanji) helms the follow up from his own script, with Code Entertainment, ShivHans Pictures, and Envision Media producing the feature.

Seriously, I just kid because I’ll take Liam Neeson action flicks until he’s officially in a wheelchair and can’t do them anymore. He’s totally rejuvenated himself with Taken and has be one one of the most come out of nowhere and unlikely action stars ever after doing decades of heavy drama with little hints of action here and there.
