CinemaCon ‘23: Vin Diesel Announces Release Date for FAST X: PART 2!!!

Fast X is set to rev up and roar into theaters on May 19th but franchise star Vin Diesel is already looking towards the future as he made an appearance at CinemaCon 2023 to announce the launch date for the final film in the franchise.

Series stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, and Tyrese took to the stage first to rundown the previous nine films and then gave Diesel a formal introduction where Vin talked about the Fast and Furious franchise being the longest running one in history. He then gave the announcement that Fast X: Part 2 will officially hit theaters in 2025 and before giving the crowd more new footage from Fast X.

Of course, the only ones who got to see the footage were those in attendance but my source on site mentioned that we got more of series newcomers Alan Ritchson and Brie Larson. One kick ass detail involved John Cena literally kicking ass and taking names in order to protect Don’s son which bodes well for the character who had a 180 change of character in the last film after first going after Dom and family. They also showed Sung Kang and Jason Statham together which we saw in the stinger scene of part 9.

Fast X will be the prequel for the ultimate finale of the Fast & Furious franchise, which was just announced that Louis Leterrier will be back to helm after taking over on X after Justin Lin abruptly exited.

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante, witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price. Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.

Fast X stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena, Scott Eastwood, Helen, Mirren, and Charlize Theron. New additions include MCU star Brie Larson as Tess, a rogue operative from the Agency; Alan Ritchson (Reacher) as Aimes and he is the new head of the agency who isn’t a fan of Dom and his crew as his predecessor Mr. Nobody played by Kurt Russel who disappeared in the last film was, Daniela Melchior is playing a Brazilian street racer who is an important piece to Dom’s past, and Rita Moreno as Dom and Mia’s Abuelita Toretto.

Fast X will race into theaters on May 19th. Then fans will have to wait two years to see how the saga ends with the release of Fast X: Part 2 in 2025. No definite release date has been announced as of yet.
