Warner Bros held their panel at the annual movie event and with it, we have a brand new and exhilarating trailer for DC’s game changing movie The Flash which sees Ezra Miller returning as The Scarlet Speedster. Along the way, he teams up with two Batmans, a very ultra new Supergirl and another version of himself to rewrite time and save the world. Check it out below along with awesome key art that I’m going to want on the wall in my office!
Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to,” reads the synopsis. “That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian … albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”

Also starring are Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen. It’s also important to note that Ben Affleck makes his return and will be playing along with Michael Keaton as both are reprising their different takes on Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film. Nothing short of epicness.
The Flash trailer is every bit as advertised and superhero fanboys and girls will get an exciting jolt of comic book wonder. The new trailer is filled with more incredible footage, and we witness more of Michael Keaton’s Batman, Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl as they do their out of this world thing!
Even though I’m excited for this film, I still have some concerns over it that I can’t share. For starters, I can’t help but feel that this is a big middle finger to Snyderverse fans as this will essentially be the last one of its kind. I’m fearing that this movie will erase everything and then James Gunn’s DCU will be ushered in.
Also, why have Supergirl in it and not Henry Cavill as her big cousin. This could have been one more outing for the actor who was basically told one thing and given another. Where is the rest of the JLA during all of this. You have Batfleck returning, although in limited capacity, but no one else. With everything at stake, wouldn’t you see Momoa’s Aquaman and Gadot’s Wonder Woman as well. I digress though and hopefully they’ll give us fans want we want and not try to force feed something completely different. Only time will tell.
The Flash is set to release in theaters on June 16, 2023. The movie was helmed by IT‘s Andy Muschietti from the newest screenplay written by Christina Hodson who also did Birds of Prey.
